Yesterday my family and I attended our communities Halloween event. It was a first for the community to hold an event for Halloween so we wasn’t sure what they would do or how it would turn out but we dressed up and tagged along for the children.
So I’ve gotten around to finishing a book after my hard attempt at getting through Lord of the Rings and today I’m going to give you my thoughts on The Martian by Andy Weir.

Don’t worry this won’t be another update post. In fact this will be a kind of diary of what I did last week for my birthday celebrations.
In my last update post I said I was going to write a book review but I can’t really write a review as I haven’t finished the book I was reading.
Once again I’m going to write a blog on why I haven’t written a post in a long time, and the excuses this time is the same; busy, busy, busy…….
As I’m a British Expat living in Japan my feeling towards the result of the United Kingdom leaving the EU is far less devastating or wonderful than those who actually live within the UK or the European Union as expats themselves.
As the title says I’m going to be changing the direction of this blog. As it stands my blog is about my life in Japan and my progress on my writing course but as of late I haven’t been able to do anything in regards to studying and my Japanese topics are getting less by the month.
Well it’s been a few weeks since I’ve written a blog and what a few weeks they have been.
Just yesterday my wife took our oldest boy to have an ADHD test at our local doctors. The doctor who ran the test was a specialist in her field and was asked to come in from another hospital.
The Japanese will put on face masks to prevent the spread of influenza and any other winterly virus that is floating around.
